Hi!
I’m maveeluv, programmer and plush artist in my free time.
I have been a huge fan of plushies since my early childhood days.
However, I grew increasingly unhappy with mass produced plushies.
In 2016 I decided I want to make my own plushies! And I didn’t know where to start at all. Where to get materials? How does pattern making even work? Not to mention I didn’t have any sewing experience either.
I visited local crafts stores, got some basic sewing supplies and low quality fabric and embarked on my journey…
Instead of using pre made pattern, what would probably had been the most sensible first step, I tried to jump right in and create custom characters and patterns from scratch.
I searched the internet up and down for patterning techniques and tutorials and tried various approaches, before I developed my own patterning technique based on digital 3D models and UV unwrapping.
In 2018 I bought my first sewing and embroidery machine and started to create my own embroidery.
After collecting experience with personal projects, I took on my first commissions and turned the lovely character designs of my clients into plushies.
My style is to make plushies as faithful to their original design as possible. I love to take on challenging project especially. The more complex and detail rich the character, the better! As such, big plushies are my favourites, because you can cramp in all the small naughty details.
